She was not like alot of the others that wandered the halls. Deme was strong, fierce and often kept an eye on everyone else. The strong had their vices however. Deme-Demelza- sat alone in the rec-room; waiting. She wasn't waiting for anyone it seemed, perhaps just some sort of entertainment. The room could have been alive with people but for some reason it wasnt. Deme longed for company; she hated it when she was alone. Being alone was not something that Deme enjoyed to do on a regular basis. She needed people. She needed to be touched. Deme sat silently watching the wall as if it would get up and leave her as well. In her hand was a small mug; filled to the brim with black coffee. Deme had brought it from her dorm, she always made her own coffee; she was the only one to do it right. If she wanted things done she did them herself. Deme was not the kind of person to wait around and let others do what she could do faster. She was a strange girl, she was. She longed for the attention of another person, whether it be female or male she didnt care. The absence of love or feeling in her life was so strange to her; she hated it. She wanted a relationship; to be blunt. Her hands shook silghtly as she picked her coffee up and to her mouth. Her rose red lips sipped the coffee with ease,but leaving a nasty taste in her mouth. Her lip was cut and bitten from her very own teeth. She had a nasty habit as she had previously found out. She bit her lip whenever she was nervous, or anxious. She was anxious, veryanxious for that matter. Blood pooled gently in a stew of coffee and fresh blood. She longed for more attention, something she could not obtain at the moment which only made her restless in her seat. Once...twice... and then -- it slowly rolled off, dropping down to the court with a sharp thud. A disappointed sigh arose from around him, and an irritated scowl marred his handsome features as the failure to bring his team in the lead dealt a blow to his hubris. "Damn it!" He cursed under his breath as he panted, turning away with a dark expression. He stalked moodily over to the bench, where a small white towel had been cast haphazardly across the arm, and he snatched it up, throwing it with a half-hearted toss around his neck. He then reclaimed his glasses, sliding them impatiently over his eyes, before exiting the gymnasium, his childish frustration still written clearly across his expression for only a few more moments, before it was replaced with a charming smile that didn't reach the senior's eyes. He did have a reputation to keep, after all. He strutted out the double doors, showing off to the little freshmen who didn't quite realize that he was gay; at least, not yet. A triumphant glee filled his eyes as he heard several soft sighs behind him. It was good being the big man on campus. He ran a long-fingered hand through his disheveled blond locks, gloating inwardly as various hushed comments reached his ears about everything from how toned his body was, to a short discussion about his desirability. He was, however, slightly disappointed by the lack of a male audience. Or, at least, a cute male audience. With a dramatic sigh, he wandered into one of the many rooms set aside for relaxation. Paying no mind to the girl sipping her coffee, he walked over to the water cooler and roughly took a cup from the dispenser, pressing down harshly on the cold water tab, and filling the small thing to the brim, before taking a few long strides to a plastic chair, preferring to keep the luxurious cushioned seats for when he was a little less... sweaty. Taking a small sip from the paper cup, he then sniffed the air a few times, the metallic tang of blood faintly reaching his senses. "Oh dear, I do believe it smells like... blood, in here." He pronounced, directing the eloquently worded phrase directed at no one in particular.[/style]

She watched the colors infuse with the other and blend to create what looked like a gentle storm inside the coffee mug. The pitch black coffee was still steaming lightly, and it wouldn't be until someone spoke that the scent of blood would catch her nostrils. her eyes were fixed upon the coffee that moved about in her mug; her nervous habit began to intensify; with the growing pains of being alone. How she hated to be alone. This school is either too lonely or filled with too many freshmen...their no good...none of them are... she spoke to herself in the insides of her mind, the longing and yearning for attention was burning her innards. A sharp pain seemed to run throughout her body, it was a nervous pain, something that she could easily help; but wouldnt. The sound of someone entering the recreational room simply skipped over in her mind; she was too caught up in her own thoughts to be in the real world in front of her. She continued to let her mind wander and her teeth bite her lip until words broke the air. The sudden words brought Deme metaphorically to her knees. Finally, someone to pay attention to her. She nearly spilt her coffee as she turned to see who was in the room with her as well. She smirked to herself; a blonde. Demelza cupped her coffee mug in both of her hands to set it down onto the table she sat near. She looked at the rim of the coffee cup to find stains of red on it; she was doing it once again. She quickly licked her lips clean as she watched the boy from the corner of her eye, pondering whether or not she should speak or not. "Don't you just hate blood in your coffee?" Deme spoke with gentle words, her voice was velvet and her lips slowly again began to pool with blood. She licked them clean once more but not soon enough, for the blonde seemed to have spotted her. Bloody brilliant. Felix's honey brown eyes alighted upon the girl he had barely noticed on his way in. With a charming grin armed, he approached. He was about to inquire as to why in the bloody hell she was bleeding all over her cup, but before he could open his mouth, he was beat to the question asking. "Well," He began, slightly taken aback by the oddity of the stranger's inquiry, "I don't suppose I would really have an opinion on it, since I don't usually... bleed into my coffee." He finished, giving her an odd look. What kind of person asked someone about blood in their coffee? Something in Felix told him to stay away from the strange girl, but he shrugged it off. It wouldn't do to have one of the most popular students on campus be seen mistreating the misfits. While he doubted it would actually be detrimental to his popularity, he preferred to have people actually believe that he was nice as he... seemed. "Do you need a gauze, or anything like that? You're practically gushing..." He asked, trailing off as he watched her. Inwardly, he mentally slapped himself for the hesitation in his voice. It was simply unacceptable to act like anything but the perfect gentleman in public areas. Where his actions could be seen. Besides, he supposed he could humor the dark-haired girl who asked eccentric questions. Turning away before she could answer, he debated on whether or not it would be a wise action to give her his name. Unless she already knew who he was. It certainly wouldn't have been a overly difficult task, as on the back of his jersey was printed, in large, white letters, his surname. Under it was his number for his team, twenty-three. There was no way she wouldn't recognize him. Right? He jogged over to the empty, plain gray desk sitting in the corner, reminiscent of the kind found in the school's administrative offices. Turning sharply on his heel, he went to the inner side of it, his coal black basketball shoes squeaking as he pivoted. He began opening some of the numerous drawers, searching through old documents and records to search for some sort of thing to stop the bleeding, which was bothering even him. [/style]

Don't do anything that could send him away...be nice. Don't bite. Deme looked at him with her dark emerald colored eyes, they beamed with what looked like experience in the world she lived in. She was smart, but seldom applied herself outside of her required academics. The dark haired girl seemed to watch him like a hawk would her prey, preying that he wouldn't run off before she had a chance to strike. She crossed her legs in her chair she sat in, waiting. There was no real reason she desired attention other then the plain fact that she loved it. The feeling of someone else wanting to be around her or compliment her inspired her, fueled her. "I didn't notice it was that bad. I suppose I was wrong...." Deme took a finger to her lips and dabbed her lip gently. When she pulled her finger away a spot of crimson appeared on her finger tip, she sighed; things such as this seemed to happen more often then it should. Deme stared at her finger for a moment before cleaning her finger off on a napkin. She left the blood on her lips however. Bait. Deme had parted her bloody lips to speak as the tall boy seemed to turn and leave. A small cringe and sudden crash went through her. It was as if lighting struck her heart. Alone again. She watched the boy leave the room, but to her suprise she could heaer him fumbling through some kind of room; perhaps he wasn't gone just yet. She waited paitently for the boy to return. She figured he was just out of sight, but not out of ear shot. Deme was in no way or form a misfit that was for sure. This young and attractive girl of nearly 18 years of age was a stunning catch for anyone to see. her dark hair was shiny and smooth, and her eyes caught the eye of even unwanted attention (which was rare for Deme's case) any sort of attention was gold to her. Deme's status on campus was often a mixture of sorts. It ranged from the whore, the slut, the pretty one, that girl with the cut up lip, THAT girl, the stuck up.... the list went on. Not many of the people she knew were exactly right for the picking's but she didn't care. she always got what she wanted, and if that was attention she got it: whether it was unhealthy or not. "So. What is a big bad basket ball player like you doing speaking to little ol' me? Clearly there is much better fish out in the sea for you to be speaking to; is there not?" her words parted into a bloody smile. The blood only stained her lips, her teeth were still as white as they possibly could be. Perhaps years of experience kept the blood out of her mouth and staining her teeth...Deme awaited the boy to return back to her and speak yet again. She knew that her bloody lip could turn most away, but it was a habit that she could not easily break. Perhaps if it did manage to get her attention, then she wouldn't break it. Mother had always scolded him for his impatience, but he could feel the girl's gaze boring holes through the walls, and frankly it rather unnerved him. Shifting uncomfortably, he locked his slender fingers around yet another slate gray drawer handle and pulled, his honey-colored eyes scanning the container. His eyes landed upon a rectangular, pink pink, patterned box, the top sealed. Perfect. Reaching forward, he grasped the box of tissues, his large hands fitting easily around the slim prism, and jogging back out of habit, he made his way back to her, coming to a graceful stop in front of the dark-haired girl who's lip was still bleeding in an unusually profuse manner. Thrusting the box out at her, he spoke. "Here you go, miss." He said, unwilling to go so far as to open the container, take one of the paper-thin tissues out, and press it to her lip. Such an intimate gesture wasn't given to anyone, much less those he had little interest in. His keen eyes studied her features carefully. Where had he seen this girl before? Perhaps she was someone of note, after all. Dark hair, ivory skin... he absently looked at her eyes. Green, though they seemed to be more of a brown-inclined shade. An attractive person, he admitted, but to someone like him, who was used to admiration based purely on his good fortune in the looks department, it did not befuddle his mind as it did some others. Removing his attention from her, he scanned his mind instead, trying to remember some of the senseless babble some of his self-proclaimed "girlfriends" had spewed. Green eyes... green eyes... ah. He remembered now.
